Privacy & Data Protection
Transparency regarding how we handle your information at Azarias Books.
Azarias Books is a brand of Azarias Group LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company. At Azarias Books ("we," "us," or "our"), we are committed to maintaining the trust of our users. This Privacy Policy explains the information we collect through azariasbooks.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and how we protect it.
Information Collection
We collect personal data when it is necessary to provide or protect our services. This includes when you create an account, initiate or submit a book buyback, provide shipping or payout information, complete checkout verification, or contact support. Depending on the feature you use, data may include your name, email address, physical mailing address, phone number, buyback and shipment information, and payout-account information that you provide through the Site.
For a submitted buyback, we also retain limited transaction-level legal evidence: the Terms version and stable digest associated with the transaction, the acceptance timestamp, and records showing that the required buyback attestations were accepted. This evidence is tied to the order and does not require storing additional sensitive identity data.
Users may browse public portions of the Site without creating a buyback account, but features such as finalizing a sale, receiving a shipping label, or receiving a payout require account and transaction information.
Automated Data & Cookies
To operate, secure, and improve the Site, we may collect technical data such as browser type, device information, connection information, security events, and request metadata. We use cookies and similar session technologies to authenticate users, preserve buyback carts, apply security controls, and remember appropriate preferences. Disabling required cookies may prevent account or checkout functionality from working.
How Your Data is Utilized
Azarias Books uses information for purposes including:
- Order Fulfillment: Processing buyback transactions, shipments, inspection records, returns, and payments.
- Transaction Evidence: Recording the legal terms and attestations governing a submitted buyback and preserving order integrity.
- Communications: Providing account, verification, shipment, inspection, return, payment, and support communications.
- Service Optimization: Analyzing appropriate aggregated or operational data to improve the Site and valuation service.
- Security and Fraud Prevention: Detecting abuse, counterfeit activity, fraud, unauthorized access, and other threats to users or the service.
- Legal, Accounting, and Dispute Purposes: Maintaining records reasonably required to comply with law, support accounting, enforce agreements, respond to disputes, or protect legal rights.
SMS Communication Policy
If the Site sends operational SMS notifications to a mobile number you provide, those messages are used for service-related purposes such as transaction or shipment updates, not marketing unless you separately consent to marketing. Message and data rates may apply. Where an SMS program provides an opt-out mechanism, you may use that mechanism to stop eligible messages; some non-SMS account notices may still be delivered by email or through the Site.
Information Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the service, including secure transport, access restrictions, security monitoring, and protected storage for sensitive account information. No system can guarantee absolute security, but we limit access to personal information to authorized uses necessary to operate, secure, and support the service.
Third-Party Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent personal identification information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may share information with service providers such as shipping, email, security, infrastructure, and payment providers to the extent necessary to perform services for us or complete your transaction. We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to valid legal process, to investigate fraud or policy violations, or to protect users, Azarias, or others.
Retention, Access, Correction & Deletion
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your account, subject to applicable law and verification of the request. Deletion is not absolute: we may retain information when reasonably necessary for legal or regulatory obligations, fraud prevention, accounting and tax records, payment or shipment reconciliation, contract and transaction evidence, security and abuse prevention, dispute resolution, enforcement of rights, or mandatory record-retention requirements.
When retention is required for one of these purposes, we may restrict the retained information to the purpose for which it must be kept and delete or de-identify it when the applicable retention need ends.
Additional Identity Information
The current buyback checkout described by this Policy does not routinely require users to upload government-issued identity documents. If a future legal or regulatory obligation requires additional identity information for a particular transaction or jurisdiction, we may request only the information reasonably necessary for that requirement and provide appropriate notice at the time. This Policy does not state that government-ID documents are presently collected as a standard part of the buyback workflow.
